Sarah Mina C (31/05/1980) werd geboren in India, maar groeide op in België. Al vroeg werd duidelijk dat ze in haar hoofd nieuwe werelden wilde creëren, fantasierijke universa waarin andere wetten en logica's heersten. Als kind bracht ze deze werelden tot leven door te tekenen of verhalen te schrijven, maar toen de volwassenheid toesloeg groeide ook haar interesse in andere kunstvormen. De kennismaking met de fotografie kwam aan als een donderslag bij heldere hemel: dit was wat ze wilde, dit zou haar passie worden. Tijdens haar opleiding journalistiek werd Sarah Mina immers gebeten door het stille beeld, door zijn unieke capaciteit om dingen uit te beelden die niet benoemd kunnen worden en om het magische uit het gewone te destilleren. Terwijl ze haar eerste stappen in het mediaveld zette ( bij Radio Scorpio) besloot Sarah Mina het vuur dat ze tijdens haar studies naar het fotografische medium had gevoeld te bestendigen met een opleiding analoge fotografie aan de academie van Leuven.
Sarah Mina (31/05/1980) was born in India, but grew up in Belgium. At an early age, it became clear she was intent on creating new world in her hea, fantastic universes with different laws and logics. As a child, she brought these worlds to life through drawings and stories, but as soon as adulthood made its entry, Sarah Mina developed an interest in the other art forms as well. Her first encounter with the medium of photography struck her as a bolt of ligthning: this was what she truly wanted to do, this was what would become her passion. It was during her study in journalism that Sarah Mina became fascinated by the still image and by its unique capacity to capture the unnameable, to distil the magical. At the time she discovered the mediatic field (at Radio Scorpio) she decided to continue her passion for photography with an education at the academy of Leuven.
